Ok, so we are down to the real countdown. 26 days to go!

It has officially hit the point where I start to make to-do lists as I fall asleep...but its ok, we all know you can't put a price on awesomeness.

The t-shirts are being printed this week...apparently, they're so awesome the printer's wife wanted to keep the sample-print test shirt.

Anyway, back to workin' and bein' awesome...

Have I used the word 'awesome' enough? I think not...

Audrey is out of town on vacation this week. What nerve hse has ditching me...

Anywho... DTS outreach plans are wrapping up. It looks like we will be working at about 7 schools around the city, one shelter, and a Woman's pregnancy center. Lots of painting, cleaning, landscaping, etc. You guys should get ready for a hott hott week. (extra "t" for emphasis)

We are busy with tons of planning for DTS. Outreaches are falling into place. Worship is lined up. The speaker is booked. But more important than all of that... the shirts have been ordered. We should have them in the next few weeks. I am SUPER excited about the shirts. I will wait till I get them in to show you, but you should be giddy with anticipation.

We are getting really close to DTS now, less than 90 days!

Also, we are going to get the DTS'08 t-shirts in early this year (mid-may), so if any youth groups want to order shirts from us and have them early before the conference, you totally can. That way you can promote DTS'08 and look fabulous at the same time!

Ok, so I know Ben just posted, but I don't care. We can post within the same week, just call me a rebel. I am super excited about our speakers, they will be delightful. Current projects we are working on: fine tuning our t-shirt design and booking outreaches.

Y'know, as I work on stuff for DTS I always try to stay inspired in an effort to come up with only the coolest of cool ideas for all you swingin' cats. One way I attempt to inspire myself is by keeping my background music hip.

We have been obsessing over the new Be Kind Rewind movie coming out...

Actually, it is really getting scary how excited we are about the release of this film. We are so excited in fact that this very blog post is foreshadowing of greatness to come.

Also, we have decided we are going to have karaoke again this year (we always try to make the really important decisions in advance). And I would recommend choosing your song ahead of time. This sort of thing always goes over much better with appropriate preparation...besides, I think awesomeness is always a noble existential* aspiration.

*Existential: (adj) of or relating to existence, meaning/purpose in life, etc. See, by reading this, not only did you get an update on DTS, you also got a mini philosophy lesson AND learned a new SAT word. You're welcome.

Ah, New Years...a time for starting fresh, committing to resolutions, and demolishing buildings. Yes, on our first day back at work after the holidays, the church staff decided to spend some quality time together and ripped out two walls in the foyer to make the space outside the sanctuary bigger (I got to use a sledge hammer and everything!). And it got me reminiscing about DTS's of the past...which then got me even more excited about DTS '08. It'll be a totally new experience for everyone involved (HBU here we come). We have officially mailed posters and post cards to everyone, too (envelopes skillfully stuffed by yours truly)! Now that we have a location and a worship leader, I am now on a mission to find the perfect outreaches...and I shall prevail. If y'all have any ideas or suggestions please let us know. We want y'alls feedback!

And now, to share some of my objectives for '08 with y'all (calling them "resolutions" makes them sound lame):

-demolish at least one more wall this year, because it really is quite delightful
-learn a new skill/trade (I'm thinking something along the lines pinata making or professional espionage)
-actually buy a venti drink at Starbucks, I have never done that before
-since my internship is over at the end up the summer, I also need to come up with a new nickname for myself (b/c I don't need to be known as "Audrey the Amazing Intern" forever...not that I am forfeiting being amazing, I just think its time to discover a new facet of my awesomeness)

I hope you all found those inspiring. More updates on DTS to come. I might even throw in some info on how my objectives are coming along...maybe.

I got an email today from Matt McCoy saying he is interested in coming to DTS this year. I had a chance to hang out with Matt at a retreat we where apart of in Michigan. He is an awesome worship leader with a very genuine heart. And he comes highly recommended by our friend Robbie Reider. Check out his site here.
